This a Pick-up is designed from experience gained in over 200 000KMS of rally raid off-road experience.
The Vehicle is centred around a 300HP VQ 40 engine coupled to a 6 speed Sadev transmission, Rear suspension is taken from the Dakar 03 car live axle with 300mm suspension travel, the front suspension has 250mm travel double wishbones with low maintenance sealed high strength ball joints, the front geometry has been designed to give excellent handling and smooth ride. The new pick-up easily meets the FIA minimum weight limit with more than 75KGS of ballast.
Engine- the engine is wet sump [machined from Solid billet aluminium] with all modifications needed. The production VQ40 intake system is used as a base with Variable intake length controlled by the Pectel ECU.
Transmission- Sadev Hi specification 6speed sequential gearbox with centre differential 2 oil coolers fitted in roof duct. Rear differential is Nissan 233mm limited slip differential. Front differential 200mm with 10 plate limited slip diff and 30mm shafts, drive shafts are as per Dakar 2009 specification CV joints and shafts.
Fuel system- capability for 500lt tank twin fuel pumps and anti surge system, fuel cooler fitted in roof duct.
Suspension Front. Double wishbone configuration with low friction ball joints, Double DONERRE Damper spring unit with integral Hydraulic system for rough road capability
Steering- Very strong steering rack with high ration system [2turns lock to lock] with 800kgf ram.
AP Brakes - Balance bar pedal box, 320mm vented disc brakes 6 pistons front and rear 4 pistons.
Weight is 1825kg distribution, Ballast position allows for 53% front and 47% rear. Static. This allows for Dynamic distribution of nearly 50 / 50.
The Pick-up is straightforward in design making for easy service and excellent accessibility to the engine. In particular the temperature is low in the cockpit due to external exhaust system; this also reduces the fuel temp, as the fuel tank is located far away from the exhaust system.
